For this group chat you can choose any characters that are available on the platform or your own created characters. You can also mix platform characters with your own.

And they will interact with each other in real-time conversations through text-based messages, facilitating efficient collaboration consistent with their personalities and backstories.

How to Make Group Chat on Character AI:

Creating a room to start a group chat can be an exciting and engaging way to interact with the best CharacterAI bots.

And in this section, we will guide you on creating a room and starting an awesome group chat on the Character AI using a laptop or PC. But if you are using a mobile device, you can jump to this section.

Now, let’s see the steps to make Group Chat on Character AI:

1. Go to the official website beta.character.ai as shown in the figure and log in to your account.

2. On the left-hand side, you’ll find a button called ‘+ Create’. Click on it and choose ‘Create a Room’ from the options that appear as highlighted in the above figure.

3. Name your room and select the characters you want to have in the chat. You can pick characters from the provided options or even use your own characters.

For example, I select one of my characters and two popular characters named WhoWouldWin (@greg) and Character Assistant (@landon) from Character AI.

4. Now you have the option to add a topic to your room. It’s optional, but it can make your group chat more interesting.

5. Once you’ve filled in all the required information, click on ‘Create It’ at the bottom right corner as highlighted in the above screenshot.

How to make a group chat on character ai Mobile App

To start a group chat, you should create a room in the Character AI mobile app first. However, unfortunately, there is no option to make a room in the Character AI mobile app. 

But you can still create a room using your mobile. Let’s take a look at the steps:

1. Open any mobile browser like Chrome and type “Character.ai” in the search bar. Click on the first link that appears, which should be beta.character.ai.

2. Make sure you are logged in to your Character AI account.

3. Look for the ‘+ Create’ button below and tap on it. From the options that appear, select ‘Create a Room’.

4. Name your room and choose the characters you want to include in the chat. You can select from the provided characters or use your own.

For example, I selected one of my own characters and two popular characters from Character AI.

5. Now you can add a topic to your room. It’s not mandatory, but filling it in can make your group chat more interesting and engaging.

Below is an example of characters and topic selection process to kick-start your group chat.

6. After filling in all three sections, tap on ‘Create It’ located at the bottom right-hand side and start group chatting.

First of all, I select some characters who suit my room topic: The Flash, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Iron Man, and Captain America.

To find characters in CharacterAI, search for their names. Just type “The Flash” or “Captain America” in the search bar, and you’ll locate the character you want.

You can also include the “Superhero” tag in your prompt for more character options.

Now, Let’s choose a Room Topic: Play-by-Play Superhero Battle

Now I am trying to write the description of the room…

Description: In this room, the characters will engage in a thrilling play-by-play discussion of an imaginary superhero battle. Participants can immerse themselves in a dynamic and action-packed conversation as the AI bots narrate the exciting events unfolding in the battle. Whether it’s superheroes from existing comic books or original characters, the focus will be on describing the epic clash, discussing the characters’ powers, strategies, and exciting plot twists.

Now let me set some basic rules for the group chat to make it more exciting and stay within boundaries.

Room Guidelines:

1. Stay within the context of the superhero battle theme.

2. Feel free to introduce new twists, unexpected turns, and suspenseful moments to make the battle even more exciting.

5. Remember to adhere to the principles of fair play, respect, and inclusivity in your interactions.

Note: This is just one example of a room topic. You can modify or create a different room topic based on your interests, such as discussing the latest episode of Mission Impossible or any other subject you find intriguing.

Tips and Tricks on Creating Room to Start Group Chat

Whether you’re planning to have a fun conversation or explore a specific topic, these tips and tricks will help you make the most out of your group chat experience. 

So, let’s dive in and discover how to create an engaging and enjoyable room and make a group chat.

1. Set a Conversational Focus:

Before starting a group chat, decide on a specific topic or theme for the room. For instance, you could create a room dedicated to discussing movies. 

By setting this focus, you can ensure that the AI bots stay on topic and provide relevant responses.

In the middle of the conversation remind them to talk about movies, share recommendations, or discuss film genres.

This way, the conversation remains centered on the chosen theme, making it more engaging for participants.

2. Train AI Bots Individually:

To create a more dynamic and interesting group chat experience, train each AI bot individually before integrating them into a room.

Let’s say you have two bots named Lily and Lyle. Train Lily to have a witty and sarcastic personality, while training Lyle to be empathetic and informative.

By giving each bot its own unique traits, they will interact with participants in distinct ways, providing diverse perspectives and keeping the conversation engaging.

3. Keep the Group Small:

From our experience we can say to maintain a coherent and manageable group chat, it’s generally recommended to keep the number of AI bots small.
